Is SnapNinja safe to use? Will I get banned?

SnapNinja operates entirely through Chrome DevTools Protocol—it doesn't modify Snapchat's servers, inject code into their app, or violate their API terms. Because we intercept media at the browser level (after it's already been delivered to you), Snapchat has no way to detect that you've saved anything. No screenshot notification. No 'replayed' indicator. The sender sees exactly what they'd see if you just viewed normally. That said, we can't make guarantees about Snapchat's future detection methods. Use responsibly.

Why do I need to use Chrome?

We launch Chrome with remote debugging enabled, connect to that interface, and inject a script that captures media blobs as they're received. Other browsers like Firefox or Safari don't support CDP, so Chrome is required.

Does this work on iPhone/Android?

SnapNinja is a desktop application for Mac and Windows. However, it saves snaps sent from ANY device—including iPhones and Androids. Here's how: you open Snapchat Web (web.snapchat.com) in Chrome on your computer, and SnapNinja captures media from there. The sender can be on any device. You just need a Mac or Windows computer to run SnapNinja and view the snaps through Chrome.

What's the difference between free and paid?

Free users get 5 saves to test the app. After that, you can purchase credit packs — 10 saves for $4.99 or 30 saves for $9.99 — or get lifetime access for $49.99 with unlimited saves forever. Credits never expire, so you can use them at your own pace. Spotlight videos and public Stories are always free and unlimited—they don't count against your save quota because they're public content.

Do Spotlight/Stories really not count against my saves?

Correct. We distinguish between private content (DMs from friends that cost saves) and public content (Spotlight, Stories, Discover). Public content is free and unlimited because it's already publicly viewable—saving it is no different than bookmarking a YouTube video. Your save quota only applies to private friend snaps.

What happens if Snapchat changes something?

Because SnapNinja's core logic is delivered as a dynamic payload from our servers (not baked into the app), we can push updates instantly without requiring you to download a new version. If Snapchat changes their web app structure, we update the interception script server-side and it takes effect on your next launch. We also have a kill switch if something breaks catastrophically—we'd rather disable the app temporarily than risk your account.
